In the early 90s, engineering in India was evolving but still lacked depth in areas where precision and long-term performance truly mattered. There was a need for smarter thinking, deeper knowledge and solutions built to last. Late Shri Satendra Kumar saw this gap as an opportunity.

In 1994, he founded Surlon Group with a clear purpose. He believed our industries needed to work smarter. Not just faster or bigger, but smarter. That meant understanding materials, investing in knowledge and building solutions that would stand the test of time. In those early days, everything was hands-on. Every decision was deliberate. With a small, committed team, he laid the foundation for something long-lasting. What began as one company has grown into a group of four. Each shaped by years of learning, building and solving real-world problems alongside our partners. We didn’t grow by scaling fast. We grew by going deep. By getting into the details, perfecting processes and earning trust one solution at a time. That mindset continues to guide us every single day.
