CABLE SHEAVES

METALON Cable sheaves are used in all kinds of hoisting machines, from huge container cranes to mobile cranes and from offshore cranes to small grabs. By using METALON MDS cable sheaves, the lifetime of the steel cables increases considerably, the lifting capacity of the crane increases and all corrosion problems are solved.
Metalon from SURLON has been a preferred material for Cable Sheaves, having been specified by many OEM’s and offering decades of successful performance.
Metalon Sheave Wheels have been developed and preferred to be produced in spun-cast Polyamides with Additives for High Impact, self-lubricating and load bearing properties.

WEAR PADS

SURLON’s materials are preferred choice for Boom Wear Pads, replacing traditional materials like Phosphor Bronze, Phenolic Resin Laminates and other bearing materials. SURLON’s Engineered advanced Polymers Metalon Oilon, Metalon WFM, Metalon MDS have performed excellently exhibiting self-lubricating and excellent physical properties. In comparison to any other grade of cast nylon and other traditional bearing materials. Metalon demonstrates very low friction and minimal wear without causing any harm to mating surface. These properties are invaluable to any construction equipment where two metal surfaces are required to slide on each other, like sliding booms, telescopic handlers, with more demanding applications requirements become more complex and require long lasting, energy efficient components.
